PD Releases "Bayside Collection"

Today I was surfing through the PD website when I stumbled across something that I had not seen the other day when I was on the site (which means that there is a high probability it is new). The "Bayside Collection", as you would probably expect, is a collection of house plans designed specifically to meet the strict council requirements around the bay. Although only a small collection at the moment, the inclusion of a highly reconfigured Waldorf was the initial observation that caught my attention.





PD Blog Receives Major Overhaul

I would be hard pressed to find someone that wouldn't agree that the Porter Davis website is incredibly well designed. The PD blog, until today, could only be described as the neglected younger sibling, but not any more. Today PD aligned it's blog design and theme with the rest of the PD website, and with it brought the cleaner, minimalistic feel with the ability to use photos and other images to really make the site POP. Great job PD.


PD Regional Offices to Amalgamate

Thanks to Joe over on the HomeOne forum for sharing the very exciting news that PD will be relocating all of their regional offices (i.e. Hallam, Keilor Park, Narre Warren and Port Melbourne) into a "central hub of inspiration" in Docklands. PD Announces the Waldorf Grange

I few months ago I heard a rumour that PD was to release a version of the outstanding Waldorf floor plan that had the bedrooms configured with the Master up the front of house. Today PD publicly confirmed that rumour by officially releasing the floor plans of the "Waldorf Grange". I have included the "standard" floor plan below, but feel free to check out the PD website for the full range of options...




VBA Urges Home Owners to Check Their Insurance

People living in bushfire prone areas are being urged by the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) to
check that their home insurance policy takes into account all rebuilding costs, including those
associated with meeting the national building code introduced after the 2009 Black Saturday

2015 Guide to Standards and Tolerances

The Victorian Building Authority has just released an updated version of its "Guide to Standards and Tolerances". The VBA explains the purpose of the Guide as, "a convenient reference to the minimum standards and quality of domestic building work that can be expected. It provides references to relevant areas of legislation and gives guidance on areas of building standards that are not covered by legislation or most building contracts."
