Guide To The Different Types of TV's

Doing so much research on TV's for our theatre room is simply doing my head in! I have come across so many TV's with different acronyms like LCD, LED, OLED and Plasma that I am struggling to get my head around it all. I found a great article that went a long way to helping me overcome my confusion, so I thought that I would share it.

Firstly, I love your blog, it's the first thing I click on when booting up the computer for the day. With regards to your theatre room, have you looked into the projector with large screen on the wall. We have a dedicated theatre room that we have decked out with a JVC HD projector and the bluray pictures are comparable with that of any TV. The screen size we have on the wall is 130" which is HUGE but you feel like you're in your very own theatre, not just a lounge with a big TV. It's worth the investigation. Especially if you go to the trouble of soundproofing the room. I can't remember if you said you were doing that.

  2. We are not going to be getting a projector because the Media room is not going to be a dedicated theatre. This might seem crazy but it will be used like a downstairs rumpus. It will have the TV on the wall facing the living area and an L-shape could in the corner so that the floor area is still open. This is the plan at this stage!
